Namibia, a country on the South Western part of Africa is a unique geographical formation where a large desert kisses the oceans. It is a combination of sand dunes and the savannahs the kind that is impossible to see anywhere else in the world. Namibian safari tours are famous and attract tourists from all over the globe. One of the most intriguing wildlife sanctuaries is the Etosha National Park, where you can have a close brush with the African Lions and many other species of mammals and reptiles.
A typical Namibian safari can be completed in approximately 2 weeks. It starts from the capital city of Windhoek and ends after you explore the Namibrand natural reserve. In between you get a chance to visit the Africat foundation on Day 2 and game viewing at the Etosha national park on day 3 and 4. The Africat foundation is a research and rehabilitation center for cheetahs and leopards to ensure their survival. During the 2 day visit of the Etosha National park, staying close to the water hole will give the breathtaking view of lions and deer drinking water a few meters apart. The game starts next. You can also see the amazing birdlife that Etosha is so famous for.
Day 5 takes you to the Game drive in Ongava Game reserve and during day 6 and 7 you can enjoy the elephant drive at Mowani. On day 8 the stop is at Swakopmund along the Namibian coastline. During the last leg of the tour, on day 9 you can see the sand dunes in the Sossusvlei area. Your tour ends with a visit to the Namibrand Nature reserve and a balloon ride over the haunting dunes landscape.
